COOLIBAH

Thompson Longhorn was responsible for the detailed design, fabrication and installation of an automated processing facility at “Coolibah”. 

The final design incorporated a fully pneumatic operating system from the bugle entry gate, 360° Crowd, adjustable width curved race, crush leading to the 3-way draft, with the total yard capacity to handle approximately 440 head.  The automated equipment within the working centre allows for ease of use to operate all gate opening and closure from the centre of the yards to increase personnel safety and the entire yard can be operated by one person with a remote control.  The client elected to raise the height of gate frames to ensure all sections leading to the crowd can be accessed on horseback and the outer yards also have tractor access, which allows full flexibility of yards for the owners when feeding cattle.
